Yoga for Runners focuses on stretching out tired leg muscles, tight hips, releasing shoulder tension, building a strong core and increasing spine flexibility.
Breathing exercises and guided meditations are included to help increase lung capacity, calm nerves and develop a positive mindset.
Whether you run for fun or are training for a race, a Yoga for Runners class can help keep your body and mind run-ready.
My own running experience:
I am a super passionate runner and when I'm not teaching yoga, I can usually be found running up and down the beautiful Hong Kong waterfront! The day I achieved my dream of running a sub-4 hour marathon was the happiest day of my life. My love of running has taken me all over the world to complete the following 14 marathons (to date!): London, Tokyo, Hong Kong, Seoul, Reykjavic, New York, Berlin, Edinburgh, Chicago, Athens, Paris, Amsterdam and Great Wall of China twice. I have experienced first-hand the many benefits of a yoga practise alongside running, including more physical comfort when running long distances and less stiffness the day after races. I highly credit my daily meditation practise for my more recent happy marathon experiences!
I started a small run/yoga club in April 2020. This had been a dream of mine for years. I started the club just as the coronavirus pandemic was developing in Hong Kong as so much felt uncertain at that time. We run 5km and then I teach specific yoga for runners in Tamar Park.
